Hi Lauren, thank you for being willing to be our first interview for
The Heel’s Employee Spotlight.
What is your current position at The Heel?
I am the store manager as well as a certified pedorthist.
What do you enjoy most about working at The Heel?
I enjoy interacting with the customers and staff and helping to provide a great experience for everyone.
What is your favorite pair of shoes from The Heel?
My favorite pair of shoes is the Xelero Heidi.
What is your proudest accomplishment(s) while working at The Heel?
Helping to create processes that have enhanced the customer’s experience, like the implementation of the floor coordinator, are accomplishments in which I take pride in.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Seymour, WI, which is just west of Green Bay. After high school, I went to Concordia University in St. Paul, MN and earned my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. Upon graduation, I moved back to the Green Bay area.
What is your favorite experience/favorite thing to do living in Wisconsin?
I enjoy having four seasons. It gives me the opportunity to enjoy many different outdoor activities. In the summer, I enjoy spending time on the boat. In the fall it is hiking and in the winter it is skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing.
What was your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject is math. I almost majored in math, but then decided I didn’t want to work at a desk my entire life and changed to Kinesiology, which was more passion-driven by my interest in sports.
Do you prefer a fake Christmas tree or a real tree? Why?
I prefer a real tree, but now as an adult, I realize why my parents thought about getting a fake one.
When I am not working at The Heel, I enjoy…?
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outside partaking in many different outdoor activities, curling up on the couch with my dog, knitting, and trying new recipes.
I am currently binge watching/reading/listening to…
I don’t watch a lot of movies or read a lot of books, but I do like to listen to podcasts while doing chores around the house. Currently, I have been listening to a True Time podcast called Casefile.
What is one of the best pieces of advice you have ever received?
Not to worry about things that you can’t change.
Thank you, Lauren, for letting the spotlight shine on you! You are a valuable member of The Heel Team and we are grateful to have you as our manager.
