The brand's shoes are designed in Belgium and produced in Italy. The designers were inspired by sports shoes and casual shoes from the 1920s and 30s. The name KAMO-GUTSU is derived from a Japanese shoe model with which Kemari is played. Kemari is the archetype of today's soccer game.

I have been coming to Green Bay 3-4 times a year for the past 10 yrs., have seen the Heel, but never stopped in. On my most recent visit I had some extra time so decided to stop by. I was frankly blown away by the selection, both for activity level and brands. I had never seen or heard of Kamo-Gutsu, but found the designs really unique, like nothing I had seen before. It was also interesting to know the Heel is the only US retailer currently. I tried on a couple of pairs on that first afternoon before coming back the next afternoon and ultimately buying a different pair than the two I had tried on the day before. Very impressed with Kamo-Gutsu, already looking forward to my next trip to Green Bay in the fall. Special shout out to both Sam and Ryan, who helped me the two days I stopped in. I'm very glad I finally made it to the store!
